Another Michelin Guide Spot – But This One’s Different
Another day, another Michelin-listed restaurant. Another 45-minute walk to get here. But this time? Absolutely worth it.
This was the first place where I’d actually say, yes, this is worth the detour.

We ordered:
- Crab meat fried rice
- Stir-fried pork with basil and chili
- Southern Thai sour curry soup with fish (not brave enough to get it with the fish head—yet)
The owner came over almost immediately and tried to warn us off the curry soup, probably assuming from our pre-tanned skin that we wouldn’t be able to handle the heat. So I pulled out my phone and showed him the photos from that insane chili-loaded hotpot we had in London, arguably the spiciest thing that has ever existed on this planet.
He laughed. Challenge accepted.
I also have to mention the guy’s outfit—an apron and skin-tight bicycle shorts. You could tell he was proud of his restaurant, and that he genuinely wanted people to have a good experience though. The waitresses were just as friendly, welcoming us like we were regulars.
The Food – Finally, Some Serious Flavour
The food arrived, looking incredible but also making us realise—we’ve definitely ordered too much. Again.
But then we took the first bites. Wow.
This was easily the best meal we’ve had in Phuket so far.
The sour curry soup? Out of this world.
The spice level? Medium at best. I’ve noticed a pattern in Thailand—they warn you about spice, then bring out a dish that’s barely spicy at all. Either locals have zero tolerance for heat, or they just assume every foreigner is on the brink of combustion at the first sign of chili.
That being said, the flavour was unreal. A rich, deep, sour heat that coated every perfectly cooked piece of buttery soft fish. I went in expecting bones, gelatinous bits, and a struggle to get to the meat, but not a single bone in sight. Every bite was just silky, juicy, and full of flavour.
The crab fried rice was a great side—not something I’d eat on its own, but perfect for scooping up with the soup. The stir-fried pork was the weakest dish, not bad, just the least exciting on the table. The texture was a bit tough, but it paired well with the rice and balanced the soft fish.
Final Verdict – Must Visit!
This place nails everything—flavour, quality, and price.
Fish soup: 9/10
Crab fried rice: 7.5/10
Pork: 6.5/10 (good, but unnecessary with how much food we had)
Value for money: 10/10 – 640 THB for a full meal, large beer, and some of the best food in Phuket.
Service: 10/10 – friendly, welcoming, and full of personality.
Overall Rating: 4.3/5

I’m not surprised this place made the Michelin guide. It’s incredible value, and the flavours are bold and authentic. It’s not some fancy, high-end experience, but when the food is this good, it doesn’t need to be.
Would I walk another 45 minutes to come back? Yes.
Would I recommend it? 100%.
This one’s a must-visit.
