A Sweet Detour After Dinner
After wrapping up our meal at Siam Hot Pan, we were in the mood for something sweet. Right across the road, we spotted One Milk Nua (หนึ่ง นม นัว)—a Shokupan dessert café with a queue stretching out the door.
Now, a long queue can mean two things:
- It’s just an Instagram hotspot.
- It’s genuinely amazing.

Turns out, this place leans towards the latter.

The branding? On point. Cute posters, Japanese milk bar aesthetic, neon lights—the kind of place designed to look perfect on a social feed.
Luckily, the wait wasn’t too bad, and once inside, we were hit with glorious, cool AC—which, after sweating through dinner, was already a win in itself.
The Food – A Mixed Bag
We went for the Toast Kebab (medium size)—which, despite sounding like some Frankenstein fusion dish, is actually just thick-cut, grilled Shokupan toast on skewers. It came with three dipping sauces:
Pandan Coconut Custard (Green) – Easily the best.
Belgian Chocolate – Decent, but nothing groundbreaking.
Thai Tea Custard with Coconut Milk – Least favourite.

The pandan custard was the clear winner—sweet, creamy, and with that perfect coconut undertone. The Thai Tea custard, on the other hand, was just a bit too much, to the point where it got sickly fast. (I’m editing my notes 2 weeks later. and pandan overall has become a favourite for both of us)

For drinks, I got a white malt milky drink (think chilled Ovaltine), and Ashleigh went for the pink milk (basically strawberry milk). Both were refreshing, but nothing that blew us away.
Final Verdict – Insta-Worthy, But Would I Return?
Honestly? I wouldn’t go back for the desserts.
The flavours just became too overwhelming by the end—maybe we ordered the wrong combo, but it just didn’t hit the spot.
That said, I would grab a takeaway chilled milk drink from here in the future—if I was in the mood for something milky and sweet. (Which, to be fair, isn’t often.)
Where this place really shines is in:
Décor & atmosphere – Super Instagrammable. 7/10.
Service – Despite how insanely busy they were, the waitress was so lovely. 9/10.
Final Score: 3.25/5.
Google says 4.5/5, but for me? The aesthetics outshine the actual taste.
[…] restaurant visits, this is the first place I wouldn’t go back to—aside from the dessert place (One Milk Nua) and the mall food court. But desserts are a different category, and mall food… well, what do you […]
