First Dinner in Phuket – And It Did Not Disappoint
We stumbled across Siam Hot Pan on our first night, and honestly? What a find. From the moment we sat down, we were hit with the most incredible smells—a mix of sizzling meats, rich spices, and that unmistakable punch of lemongrass that seemed to follow every dish that hit the hot plate.
Because everything here is served on a sizzling pan, every time someone poured curry sauce or gravy over their meal, the whole restaurant filled with waves of spice-filled steam—the kind that instantly makes you hungrier than you thought you were.
The Food – Simple, Bold, & Packed with Heat

I went for the minced pork on rice—simple, satisfying, but not drenched in sauce like most other dishes here. That’s not to say it was dry—it wasn’t—but I did find myself craving a bit more heat.
Luckily, fresh chilies were provided.
A few spoonfuls of chopped chilies? Nice kick.
Half the bowl? Perfect slow-building burn.
By the end, it was hard to tell if it was the spice making me sweat, the woks cranking out heat from the kitchen, or just the 30-degree Thai humidity. Either way, by the time I left, I was drenched—so don’t expect AC!
Ashleigh went for a chicken dish that we both can’t remember the name of, which I only stole a bite of, but it was delicious—a little sweeter than I would typically go for, but still packed with flavor. If I ordered it, I’d 100% need to drown it in hot sauce, but it was very very good.

Honestly? Next time, I want what the table next to us had. It came out steaming, covered in lemongrass-heavy curry sauce, and smelled absolutely unreal.
Would I Go Back?
Flavour? Solid. 7.5/10.
Value? Even better. 9/10.
Worth a visit? Yes. Worth a long detour? Maybe not.
It’s the kind of place that’s perfect if you’re nearby, but I wouldn’t say drop everything and cross the island just to eat here.
Google says 4.5/5—I’d give it a 4.12/5, purely because I need to come back and try that lemongrass curry.
