This little café had been on our radar for a while as we’d walked past every day—it sits along the route to our favourite 7-Eleven, and we figured it was finally time to pop in, grab a coffee, and say hello to some pups. Plus, we’ve been missing Hugo, so it felt like the perfect little stop to fill the dog-shaped hole in our day.
Coffee? Meh. Dogs? Adorable.
Let’s get this out of the way: you’re not coming here for the coffee.
It’s not terrible, just very average. Nothing memorable, and definitely not something I’d come back for. So if you’re thinking this could be your cute, cosy daily coffee spot—it’s not that.
And that’s kind of the café’s biggest flaw—it doesn’t make you want to return. The flow of the experience feels a little off. You get the sense that it’s not fully figured out as either a proper café or an immersive animal experience.
It’s also disappointing for this reason. It actually looks really cosy and modern from the outside, but a bit worn and cold inside. It felt more like a waiting room than it did a cafe.
But… the dogs.
The dogs are lovely. Genuinely friendly, happy to be around people, and all very well looked after. The staff member minding the pen was also incredibly kind—her English wasn’t perfect, but she made a real effort to talk to us about all the dogs, which was actually such a refreshing experience. You’d be surprised how hard it is to find people in Phuket who can hold any kind of conversation in English.

Not that I’m judging—I’ve barely picked up more than the basics myself. I’m still at:
- s̄wạs̄dii kráp (hello),
- khàawp khun kráp (thank you),
- aròy mâak mâak (very delicious),
- pèt pèt (very spicy),
- châi (yes),
- mâi châi (no),
- chék bin (can I pay?),
- mâi bpen rai (no problem).
It’s Relaxed, But Not Really an “Experience”

Compared to other animal cafés (like the capybara one we visited), this place is definitely more laid-back—no one’s timing you or shooing you out, which is a plus. But still, it doesn’t quite feel like an experience worth planning your day around. At the end of the day, it’s just a small pen in the heat, where a few dogs are brought out to stretch their legs. And honestly? Most of them seemed more interested in finding a spot to pee than posing for Instagram!!
And honestly? I did leave with a bit of a heavy heart. You can hear and see that there are more dogs kenneled out back, and it didn’t look like many customers were coming through during our visit, or on our daily walk. I hope those dogs are still getting the care and attention they deserve—though to be fair, the ones we met were happy, healthy, and clearly adored by the staff.
We did get to play with about 10 dogs, not just the ones in the pictures. My favourites were the Dobermans.
So in my head, I told myself: “You’re not paying for a coffee, you’re paying for the dogs to eat.” That helped.
The Breakdown
- Coffee: 5/10 – Basic, nothing exciting.
- Vibe: 5/10 – A bit aimless.
- Staff: 9/10 – Lovely people who clearly care.
- Value: 3/10 – £10 is a stretch for what you get.
- The Dogs: 10/10 – Obviously the highlight.
Final Thoughts
Would I go again? No.
Am I glad I went? Yes, for the dogs.
If you’re walking by and want to support a place that’s got a lot of dogs to feed, grab a drink and give some love to the pups. Just don’t expect a standout experience.
