Sushi Cravings & A Tough Dinner Decision
Tonight’s dinner decision wasn’t easy. After a big plate of Pad Thai earlier in the day, we weren’t exactly starving, but I had been craving sushi for a while. Since this place was only a 10-15 minute walk, it seemed like a safe bet to finally scratch that itch.
Plus, after spending years paying almost £10 for a single plate of sushi in Turkey, I was hopeful that Thailand would finally offer decent sushi at a fair price.
First Impressions – Not Great, But Not Terrible
After a short walk, we arrived. First impressions? Very ordinary.
We walked in, grabbed menus, sat ourselves down, and waited. The waitresses were too busy scrolling through their phones to even notice us, which wasn’t exactly a great start.
Eventually, once they realized we were there, they were actually really friendly and attentive. And to be fair, we’ve walked past this place a few times now—it’s on our usual route to a good handful of restaurants and our go-to 7-Eleven—and they always wave and smile when we pass.

A small bonus—we were given complimentary edamame, which was a nice touch. Something about complimentary snacks always makes a place feel just a little more welcoming.
There was more on the plate when it arrived, but we were too hungry to take the photo before digging in…
The Food – Some Hits, Some Misses
We ordered:
- 4 salmon maki
- 4 tamago maki
- 4 salmon lava rolls
- 4 salmon crunchy rolls
- A sundae dessert
The maki rolls were the best of the bunch, and honestly, I wish we’d just ordered more of them. Normally, I avoid maki because they’re too small and unfulfilling, but Ashleigh ordered them, and she definitely made the better choice.
The crunchy salmon and lava rolls? A different story.
Way too saucy. It bulked out the meal, sure, but the lava roll’s sauce was overloaded with mayonnaise, and after a couple of bites, it just became unpleasant.

The crunchy roll? Basically the same as the lava roll, except topped with mystery pink crunchy sprinkles. Whatever they were, they tasted nice, so if you love mayo-heavy sushi, this might be for you.
On the plus side, the rice was nicely seasoned, sweet, and the portion sizes were decent, so we did at least leave feeling full.
The Dessert – The Best Part of the Meal
The sundae was actually really good, which was a nice way to end the night after an otherwise underwhelming meal.
Final Thoughts – Not Bad, But Not Noteworthy
Would I recommend this place? Not really.
The sushi was fine, but there are better places out there. It just missed the mark too many times to be anything special.
That said, if you live nearby and it’s the most convenient option, sure—go for it. The complimentary edamame was a nice touch, but that alone isn’t enough to make this a standout spot.
Google gives it 4.8/5,
but for me? 2.87/5.
An OK spot, but not one I’d rush back to.
